Letter: Donation drive to earn Girl Scout Bronze Award
The Junior Girl Scouts of La Vernia Troop 8 will be holding a donation drive for Osborne Stables Equine Rescue located at 5056 U.S. 87 West in Sutherland Springs on Saturday, April 28, from noon to 4 p.m.
We embarked on a big adventure this year to earn our Bronze Award, which is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can achieve. The goal is to team up and make a difference in the local community.
We chose to make a difference at Osborne Horse Rescue because it is a non-profit permanent home for 34 horses and four donkeys that have come from very abusive situations, and in many cases, almost certain death if it had not been for the rescue. The ranch rehabilitates the horses, and in some cases uses them to give back to the community in programs to stop animal cruelty before it begins. This wonderful new home, and all of its love and care, is provided by one wonderful couple and just a few dedicated volunteers.
Any help that you can provide us to meet our goal is greatly appreciated. We invite donations of gift cards or certificates, monetary donations, and more.
For more information, contact Michele Budde at 210-274-6710 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please also pass this information along to anyone that you think might be able to help. Thank you.
