SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. - Congressman Charlie Gonzalez (D-Texas) issued the following statement expressing disappointment over Governor Mitt Romney’s comments that mischaracterized President Obama’s record on immigration reform:

“Perhaps if Governor Romney hadn’t spent the last six years campaigning for President, he might have noticed that it was members of his own party that defeated the DREAM Act and thwarted passage of comprehensive immigration reform. Additionally, it was only during the past few months that Governor Romney proclaimed Arizona's S.B 1070 anti-immigrant bill to be a ‘model’ and promised to veto the DREAM Act. President Obama is committed to passing comprehensive immigration reform and the DREAM Act, but is unable so long as Republicans like Governor Romney, continue to pander to the far-right wing of their base.

“Governor Romney’s attempts to rewrite history with campaign rhetoric will fail because he cannot change the facts about himself or his party.”

As Nanacy Pelosi said, they'd pole vault over any obstacles. Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Waters, Obama, Biden are not worth a teaspoon of spit.

Boy that's a good one coming from a Democrat that sees facts as an obstacle that has to be circumvented.

Dear Charley, let's review a couple of things. Obama was elected in 2008, right? Both the Senate and the House were controlled by Democrats for two years through 2010 right? So you want to explain exactly how the Republicans ... More ›
