Members of the La Vernia Foundation for the Arts met March 27 at the La Vernia City Park to discuss details for the first annual La Vernia MusicFest, which is set for Saturday, April 14, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Founding members are Randy and Terrie Leonard, Wes Ashburn, Dave Jagge, Brad Beck, Heath Cover, and Elaine Stephens. Advance tickets are on sale now for $8 at the La Vernia News office and at the Music Loft. Tickets will be $10 at the gate.

The La Vernia MusicFest will feature Johnny P. and “The Wiseguys,” Grammy nominee Joe Posada, and Rusty Martin and “Dr. G.” They will be performing jazz, crooners style, and rhythm and blues.

Food trucks, food demonstrations, wine, and beer will also be available. The food trucks from San Antonio will feature gourmet cuisine. Local resident Al Boos will be conducting food demonstrations and Frosted Delights by Joyce will be making “cake balls.”
