Early Childhood Fair and registration

Parents of preschoolers and preschool children are invited to attend the third annual Early Childhood Fair at the La Vernia Primary School Thursday, April 12, from 6-7 p.m.

Featured events will include the Mighty Tiger Band, cafeteria tours, bus tours, school registration, cheerleaders and activities for children. Parents will also be able to register their children for the 2012-13 school year.

The following documents must be provided to register your child:

•Current proof of residency within LVISD (electric/water bill with physical address).

•If renting or residing with someone, a residency statement (provided by school) along with current proof of residency described above from property owner.

•Student birth certificate

•Students Social Security card

•Immunization record of student

•Court papers providing guardianship, if applicable

•Copy of driver license of parent/guardian enrolling student

Pre-K only: Must qualify by one of the following:

•Is considered an “English as a second language learner” (another language other than English is spoken in the home), or

•Is educationally disadvantaged which means eligible to participate in the national free or reduced price lunch program. Need one month’s proof of income for the household.

•Is the child a member of the armed forces, including state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.

•Has ever been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing under 262.201 of the Texas Family Code or,

•Is considered eligible for “homeless” status.
