A Floresville man is seriously injured and another driver suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 87 and S.H. 97 south of Sutherland Springs.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Baumann, Shaun Murray, in a 2011 Ford Escape, failed to yield at the stop sign on S.H. 97. His vehicle was hit by a 2007 Ford F150 crew cab pickup truck driven by Shane Zoeller Jr., 20, of Stockdale, who was headed south on U.S. 87. Assisting Baumann was DPS Trooper Anthony Flores.
Stockdale Emergency Medical Services and the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department attended the scene and extracted Murray, 43, from his vehicle. Also responding were members of the Sutherland Springs VFD, who established a landing zone for an air evacuation of Murray for medical treatment.
