1944-2012

Corrine A. Schlogel, nee Skinner, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Corrine came into this world Sept. 19, 1944.

Corrine and her husband, Paul, came to Floresville from Chicago in 1989 to build their dream log home. They were one of the first to build their home in the Eagle Creek Ranch community. She retired from H-E-B in 2008 after 19 years of service. Corrine loved people, and after retirement worked part time for the Meals on Wheels program at the Floresville Senior Center. She touched the lives of those who knew her generous, fun-loving spirit. Her favorite things were being with and traveling with her sister Cynthia, her grandchildren, scrapbooking, reading, animals, and being around babies. She had many people who loved her and saw how special she truly was, said her family.

Corrine is survived by her husband of 36 years, Paul J. Schlogel; her children, Denise Emery of Phoenix, Ariz., James Superits and wife Robin of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Paul M. Schlogel and wife Stacie of McQueeney, and Diane Meier and husband Kiley Clark of Floresville; her 11 grandchildren, Luke, Levi and Noah Meier, Lily Emery, Joseph Superits, Mikaylah, Vaughn, and Tristan Schlogel, and Autumn, Charley, and Madison Clark; and great-grandson Eithan Rodriguez.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Downtown Baptist and Kindred hospitals for the care she was given in her last weeks.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 14, in the Oak Hills Community Church in Floresville, Texas.

A celebration of her life will follow, as Corrine wanted her life celebrated with a joyful gathering of family and friends.

Flower memorials are requested to arrive on Friday, April 13.
