Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Stockdale tennis teams play in Cuero, Floresville

The Stockdale High School tennis team participated in the Cuero Twin Match Play Challenge tennis tournament March 30. Each participant played at least two challenge matches.

In varsity boys singles, Jordan Jackson won both his challenge matches. In boys doubles play, Landon Coston and Anthony Bennett were successful in both of their matches, and Patrick Washburn and Jacob Cardenas split their matches with one win and one loss.

In junior varsity girls doubles play, Katarina Wehmeyer and Shelley Oltmanns won their first challenge and came up a bit short in their second.

The next day, the Stockdale Junior High School tennis team participated in the Floresville Middle School tennis tournament.

In the eighth-grade girls singles division, Vanessa Urrabazo was the consolation winner, and Lauren Donsbach was the runner-up. Caitlyn Dodson participated in the eighth-grade consolation semifinals.

Travis Covington advanced to the quarterfinals of the eighth-grade boys singles division, while Austin Akin participated in the first round of the main draw and the first round of the consolation division.

Joel Marquez and Joseph Rangel participated in the first round of the main draw in seventh-grade boys singles competition, and the first round of the consolation division.
