The annual Floresville Kids’ Culinary Cooking Contest was held on March 8 at North Elementary. The 16 contestants were fourth- and fifth-graders from both North and South Elementary.

The contestants were invited to supply a kid-friendly healthy afternoon snack. The students prepared their recipes for 50 samples for parents and friends and one plate to display.

They were judged on three criteria: Healthiest Choice, Kid Friendly, and Plate Presentation. All the children received a chef coat, chef hat, medal, and certificate.

Each of the winners in the above criteria also received an additional gift bag from Ace Mart. This bag included a cake pan, decorating tips, decoration icing, bowl scrapers, and measuring cups.
