Stockdale News: It’s not just cars during the Cruise Along the Corridor
The Stockdale Garden Club and the Stockdale Museum welcome the Cruise Along the Corridor car clubs Saturday, May 5, at 9 a.m. on Main Street in Stockdale.
A plant sale offering live and artificial plants and flowers will be held in front of the Stockdale Museum along with many gift items for that special mother on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13.
Homemade cookies, pies, and cakes will be available for sale with the museum donating ice-cold bottled water. To order any specially baked pie, call Shirley at 830-660-0401 and it will be ready for pickup that day. Lemon meringue is a favorite baked by Sandra Henry.
A sidewalk art show and sale will be held in front of Family Affair. Owner Dottie Bowden, well-known artist and art teacher, invites all inside to see her work on display throughout her shop. Art students from Stockdale High School will also be displaying some of their work. Art lessons also are available at Family Affair.
Dolls from handmade to collectible will be on display in front of Main Street Mini Mall. Barbie dolls and doll furniture will be available for sale.
Handmade quilts and crocheted bedspreads and tablecloths donated to the museum sale along with a 1932 Friendship Quilt will be on display. Several afghans are also available, beginning at $5.
Vendors will be on Main Street selling everything from “domino” jewelry to barnwood furniture. Sidewalk sellers are welcome.
Gifts bags, donated by local businesses, will be given away with each car club arriving at the museum. The registration dropbox is in front of Carmen Kuhlmann’s Classic Hair Design Shop, next to the museum.
All proceeds will be divided between the Stockdale Museum and the Stockdale Garden Club.
For more information, call Shirley at 830-660-0401.
