Spring is in full swing at the Stockdale Independent School District (ISD).

Good luck and congratulations to all of the participants who represented Stockdale ISD at the Special Olympics held on April 13 at Somerset. We know everyone had a great time. We will have a list of all those participants for next month’s article.

Congratulations to our regional track qualifiers:

•800-meter relay -- Kristen Moore, Makaley Perez, Lashay Castro, and Laken Snyder

•100-meter dash -- Kristen Moore

•Long jump -- Kristen Moore

•Pole vault -- Clint Ploch and Dakota Kotara

•100-meter dash -- Dusty Mosier

•Discus -- Hunter Pierdolla.

Congratulations to all our students who placed in UIL academics, including:

•Calculator, first place team -- Moises Holguin, first place; Gerald Gonzalez, second; Clayton Lynn, third; and John Rogers, fourth.

•One-Act Play -- Clayton Lynn, honorable mention; Laken Snyder, All Star cast; and Moises Holguin and Patrick Washburn, best technical team.

What can you say about Darion McMahan? Can you say “Powerlifting State Champion!” Way to go, Darion!

The Stockdale ISD cafeteria will soon be coming on line. A scheduled substantial completion date of Monday, April 23, has been set. After this date, we will begin moving in and we will be preparing to serve delicious and nutritious meals!

•Tuesday, May 15, UIL/ Scholarship Banquet at 6:30 p.m.

•Friday, May 18, Culture Fair

•Friday, May 25, Elementary Field Day

•Friday, June 1, Graduation.

Teachers of the Month for April were James Williams, High School; Ashley West, Junior High School; and Bridget Lucas, Elementary School.
