Seven members of the St. Hedwig 4-H Club competed in the Houston Meats Judging Contest, placing fourth overall.

Individual 4-H division placings for the team placing fourth in Houston include Tommy Fletcher, third; Johnna Pieniazek, 14th; Ty Birdsong, 19th; and Koy Dieckow.

Others competing for the 4-H Club included Wyatt Landrum, Candace Landrum, and Briana Tully.

Members competing in the contest had to identify 30 retail cuts of beef, pork, and lamb; place six classes of carcasses -- wholesale and retail cuts of beef, pork, and lamb; and answer 10 questions related to their placing of the two classes.

St. Hedwig 4-H Club also placed fourth in meats judging at the San Antonio show.
