ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. St. Hedwig 4-H excels in meats judging contests

Seven members of the St. Hedwig 4-H Club competed in the Houston Meats Judging Contest, placing fourth overall.

Individual 4-H division placings for the team placing fourth in Houston include Tommy Fletcher, third; Johnna Pieniazek, 14th; Ty Birdsong, 19th; and Koy Dieckow.

Others competing for the 4-H Club included Wyatt Landrum, Candace Landrum, and Briana Tully.

Members competing in the contest had to identify 30 retail cuts of beef, pork, and lamb; place six classes of carcasses -- wholesale and retail cuts of beef, pork, and lamb; and answer 10 questions related to their placing of the two classes.

St. Hedwig 4-H Club also placed fourth in meats judging at the San Antonio show.
