POLISHED EDGE: Celebrity Q&A
Maisie Williams of ‘Game of Thrones’ on HBO
Q: How much alike are you and Arya Stark?
A: I’m definitely a tomboy sometimes. I mean, I like to get dressed up and go out, but if I am just going to go shopping or something, I’d just wear jeans and trainers. When I was growing up, I always was climbing up a tree somewhere. If you look at pictures from when I was younger, my legs are always black and blue from climbing up rocks and things like that.
Q: Have you read ahead in the books to see what happens to Arya?
A: I already know what happens to Arya, because my parents have read the books, but from what I’ve heard of Season 1, it was different (from) the books, so I don’t want to read them just in case the story changes. This is an adaptation, and it could really go anywhere, so I don’t want to get confused between the two stories.
Q: This is your acting debut. Do you want to do more?
A: Definitely. I have had such a good time doing this. I had no idea how much I would enjoy it. I never really thought about acting, because I always wanted to be a dancer. When this came around, I thought, ‘Well, I’ve got nothing to lose,’ and it all happened very quickly. But yes, I love it, and it’s something that I definitely am going to do in the future. There are a couple of other things coming up.
