All seniors are invited to take a walk to promote good health Saturday, May 5, at 10 a.m. starting on the courthouse steps in downtown Floresville. Title sponsor is Wellmed, along with Dr. Wade Krause, Dr. Frederick Vinson, and Dr. JoNelle Zager.

This will be a multigenerational 1-mile walk to help seniors stay healthy and active, in conjunction with the Floresville Chamber of Commerce Market Day on the Courthouse Square.

We all need some form of aerobic exercise to keep our heart, circulatory systems, and skeletal muscles in shape. By walking just 15 to 20 minutes a day, you can make a vast improvement in how you feel, and by walking 30 to 40 minutes a day, you can start to lose weight and tone your legs. Plus, spending quality, enjoyable time socially with others will help your mental attitude.

The event is free, and no registration is required. Walkers will receive tickets to be eligible for prizes, goodie bags, and T-shirts (while supplies last).

For more information, call Dr. JoNelle Zager at 830-484-2200.
