Corridor Cruise is May 5
The Classic Cruise Along the Corridor, taking place Saturday, May 5, is almost here, with this list of hospitality stops:
•SAN ANTONIO -- More than a dozen car clubs will start from the parking lot of the Tri-Point facilities at 3233 N. St. Mary’s St. between 8-9 a.m.
•CESTOHOWA -- The beautiful restored church will be open for visitors, and restroom facilities will be available. Take note of the names of the Spanish soldiers inscribed in the bricks surrounding the flagpole. They were serving at the nearby Fuerte del Cibolo on July 4, 1776.
•ELMENDORF -- St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 1605 Kilowatt Road. Restroom facilities will be available. Also, the local seniors group will have refreshments for sale to support their group. Contact Cody Dailey at 210-635-8210.
•FALLS CITY -- Pollok’s Deli at 207 N. Front St. in downtown Falls City. Goodies will be provided, and restrooms will be available. Contact Patsy Bordovsky at 830-254-3241.
•FLORESVILLE -- Market Days on the Courthouse Square. Participants will park in line on C Street beside the courthouse. Contact the Visitors Center at 830-393-0074.
•HELENA -- Old Karnes County Courthouse Museum will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Romona Noone at 830-780-3210.
•LA VERNIA -- The La Vernia Heritage Museum on U.S. 87 and Bluebonnet Street. There are some new additions to the “Merchants of Chihuahua Street” Exhibit. Contact Elaine Stephens at 830-947-3194.
•PANNA MARIA -- The beautifully restored church with its painted ceiling and the visitors center will be open for tours. Refreshments available. Contact George Kowalik at 830-583-6235.
•SEGUIN -- The New Braunfels Area Car Club will have their annual Car Show around the Square in downtown Seguin.
•STOCKDALE -- The Stockdale Museum on Main Street. Visit Shirley Dudley in her antique store/gift shop across the street from the museum. There is a new birding platform as you come into town. Contact Shirley at 830-660-0401.
•SUTHERLAND SPRINGS -- The Sutherland Springs Museum. Refreshments will be available. Contact Beulah Wilson at 830-947-4053.
•RUNGE -- The Runge City Park on Helena Street, across the street from the Fire Station, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks. Donations are welcome.
