■ Commissioner, Pct. 3

I am a third-generation lifelong resident of Wilson County. My wife, Dana, and I reside in Sutherland Springs.

A Stockdale High School graduate, I was a member of the National Honor Society, captain of the varsity football team, and was president of the FFA and an Area FFA officer, demonstrating leadership abilities and work ethics.

I attended Texas A&I University; however, I decided to start my own business as a cattle rancher and horse trainer. I have managed and monitored the work performance of two to five employees, made budget decisions, met deadlines, and processed payroll.

I am the son of 12-year Pct. 4 County Commissioner Wayne Stroud. Through his guidance, I have knowledge of maintaining roads and the administrative duties of this job. He and I routinely reviewed the commissioners court agendas and meeting minutes and drove the county roads daily and on weekends, inspecting the work and discussing the next project.

I chose to run to bring a conservative voice to commissioners court, lower taxes, pursue new business, protect our water supply from contamination -- in which I am financially and actively involved -- address stray animal control, and improve our county roads.

Thank you for your vote.
