CANDIDATES' FORUM: Marion ‘Buddy’ Dyches, Republican
■ County Attorney
I am the son of an Air Force sergeant. I have been married for 21 years, living in the Floresville area for nine years. My son is a college-bound graduating senior at Floresville High School, and my daughter is an honor student at Floresville Middle School. I am an Eagle Scout and served as a Boy Scout leader.
I have been an attorney and mediator for over 20 years, including six years with the Texas attorney general.
My political life began when I served as Tom Rickhoff’s campaign manager in his run for Bexar County district clerk in 1978. We made history with that race, as Tom was the first Republican elected to countywide office since Reconstruction! Aside from voting, I have not been active in politics since then, until I was recently asked to run for county attorney. I am not a professional politician; I am a lawyer.
In our time living in this county, I have grown to appreciate the people of Wilson County and I want to work for them as their attorney.
If elected, I plan to thoroughly review the county attorney office’s practices with the purpose of increasing efficiency, improving service, and saving money.
