■ Sheriff

I am a native of Wilson County and a 1965 graduate of Floresville High School. I served in the Texas Air National Guard. I am a lifelong farmer and rancher.

My wife, Sandra, and I have been married for 42 years and have two daughters, Michelle and Amy; a son-in-law, Mark; and two grandsons, Logan, 5, and Carter, 1. My family and I are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

I was elected sheriff in 1992 and am proud to serve the citizens of Wilson County. Throughout the years, I have been a member of various boards and civic organizations, including past director of the Sheriffs Association of Texas.

In the 20 years since I took office, this county has seen tremendous growth in population, most recently with the business brought to the area courtesy of the Eagle Ford shale.

I pledge continued service to the citizens of Wilson County, working with the commissioners court to ensure we meet the needs of the growing population of the county.

I respectfully ask for your vote in the May 29, 2012, Primary Election.
