■ 4th Court of Appeals, Pl. 5

I have a J.D. from UT Law School and have practiced law since 1984. I have a BBA in accounting from UTSA and was licensed as a CPA from 1981-91. I served on the State Bar Grievance Committee for six years and was District 12 Chair 2009-10.

I was raised in Pearsall, moved to San Antonio when I was 13, lived there until 1995, and then moved to a ranch in Frio County. I now live in Alice. My family from Frio County was a farming and small-business family. My wife, Seana, and I have been married for 34 years and have two children.

I am running for the 4th Court of Appeals because it covers 32 counties and all seven current justices are from the north side of San Antonio. None understand small town/rural life, farming, ranching, oil and gas production, and the many other issues that face people who live outside of San Antonio. I lived in San Antonio for over 20 years and practiced law there for 14. However, I’ve spent the majority of my 54 years in small town and rural settings, and I understand the lives of the people there.
