■ U.S. Congress, District 15

I’m a combat-wounded 30-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, active and reserve. I retired as the sergeant major of Marine Forces Pacific. My civilian job was as a Border Patrol agent, special agent serving in the counter-terrorism division, and retired as Department of Homeland Security attaché and country director for Iraq in 2005--06. After retiring from Homeland Security, I went on to be vice president for business development at a midsized IT company, and then later opened up my own small business, which I became the president and CEO of.

After seeing what this current administration has been doing, I could not stand by and watch our country being destroyed. The out-of-control spending, overwhelming national debt, and massive overreach by the federal government is choking businesses and smothering our individual freedoms. As a former Border Patrol agent, Marine, and businessman, I see a lack of commitment to protecting our borders, maintaining a strong military to protect our country, and a general disregard for American exceptionalism.

I intend to balance our budget by fighting for a balanced budget amendment along with reducing conflicting and overreaching federal regulations, enforce the sovereignty of our borders, and overhaul the immigration system.
