Help Wanted

The City of Poth is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the police department, provide patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, enforce all laws and ordinances and be responsible for public health and safety. Must be community oriented, have strong public relations skills, strong work ethics, must be physically fit and maintain a professional image while in uniform. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid Class C or higher Texas Driver’s License. Must be TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer certified and have at least 5 years of experience with law enforcement agency; SWAT, Gang Unit, Narcotics or Detective experience a plus, pass a thorough background check investigation with drug screen and credit check. The City offers benefit package with retirement plan and medical insurance. Salary dependent on qualifications. EOE. absolutely businesses should make a profit, who ever said they should not? i simply said stockdale should not take their city owned gas supply (that does not need to make a profit) and sell it to a business. Then that business ... More ›

it doesnt take 600 votes to understand that selling the gas rights to a company who stays in business by making a profit is not a good decision.

Should 44 people be allowed to decide the future of Stockdale's natural gas utility? Seems like city council would have been better able to make this decision.

I wonder what the total percent of voters(Wison County) actually voted. After seeing the poor percentage of voters in San Antonio who actually voted 19%. I hope those other 81% never never complain about their elected officials. ... More ›
