Clifton “Bubba” Daniel Jenkins Jr. passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in Poteet, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on Aug. 12, 1953, in Killeen, Texas, to C.D. Jenkins and Francis Smith McCune.

Bubba was a truck driver for many years, and resided in Poteet the latter part of his life. He loved his family and friends and was always there in time of need. He had a rough country side, but could be as soft as a teddy bear. Bubba will be remembered for his caring heart and rebel attitude. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts, said his family.

He was preceded in death by Paw Paw and Maw Maw Jenkins; Paw and Maw Smith; his father; his aunt, Francis Marcum; his cousin, Robert (Conway) Sapp; and a precious daughter.

Bubba is survived by his mother; stepmother Alene Carey; his uncles, Vergil Jenkins and wife Dorothy and Claude “Smitty” Smith and wife Sharon; his Aunt Agnes and Aunt Nell Lucas; his brothers, Robert James Jenkins and wife Gwen, Mike Jenkins and wife Karen, Victor McCune and wife Amy, Roger McCune, Bert McCune and wife Myong, Johnny Morrow and wife Sharon, and Randy Morrow and wife Rhonda; his sisters, Linda Jane Ivey and husband Warren, Karen Kinser, and Audrey Herrera and husband Robert; his children, Julie Ann Thornton and husband Dwayne, Emmick “Hammer” Jenkins, Justin Jenkins, and Gracie Rackley and husband Richard; his eight grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many longtime friends.

Bubba’s wishes were to be cremated, so there will be a memorial on Friday, May 11, at 6 p.m. at 454 Viewpoint in Poteet.
