Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. 1929-2012

Yndalecio L. Hinojosa went into the loving arms of the Lord on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the blessed age of 82. He was born Oct. 26, 1929, the son of Yndalecio C. and Gertrude Hinojosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Patricia Marie Montalvo.

Yndalecio is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Petra “Patsy” Hinojosa; his sons, Phillip Hinojosa and wife Martha, Carlos Hinojosa and wife Patricia, Rocky Hinojosa and wife Isabel, and Yndalecio “Indy” Hinojosa and wife Leah; his daughters, Linda Santos and husband Joe, Theresa Pena and husband Teodoro, and Maria Wechsler and husband Robert; his sisters, Maria Hinojosa Uvalle and husband Ignacio and Margaret Garcia and husband Bert; his brother, Gerardo Hinojosa and wife Theresa; 31 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Tuesday, May 1, from 3-9 p.m. in the Castillo Mission Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas; and Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 9 a.m. in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in San Antonio.

A rosary was recited Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the church.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church.

Interment followed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hondo.
