1936-2012

Ida Mae (Mattke) Gipson, 75, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012. She was born July 3, 1936, to Rolene (Schultz) and Paul Mattke Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Douglas Gipson.

Ida is survived by her daughters, Gwendolyn Pierce, Pamela Gipson Berry and husband Todd, and Brenda Jay Faulk and husband Lennis; her sons, Earl Ray Gipson and wife Tammy and Kirk Douglas Gipson; her brother, Paul Mattke Jr. and wife Sandra; her aunt, Mary Mattke; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation took place Friday, May 4, from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service followed at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Robert Palan officiating.

Interment took place in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in La Vernia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at P.O. Box 168, La Vernia, TX 78121.
