Pablo Ximenez, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 11:49 p.m. in his residence in Floresville at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 6 days. Pablo was born in Floresville on March 25, 1928, the son of Luis and Pauline Guerra Ximenez.

He attended Sunnyside School, and worked with FELPS for many years. Pablo married Christina Valdez on April 3, 1949, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville. Pablo was a spiritual leader with the Cursillos, and was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Pablo was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Luis Ximenez, Jose Ximenez, Jessie Ximenez, Beatrice Flores, and infant sister, Maria Oralia Ximenez; and his brother-in-law, Henry Perez.

Pablo is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Christina V. Ximenez of Floresville; his daughters, Bessie Ximenez Porter of San Antonio, Mary Ximenez Gonzaba and husband Jerry of Austin, Imelda Ximenez of San Antonio, and Thelma Ximenez Griffith and husband Russell of San Antonio; his sons, Ruben Ximenez and wife Liz of San Antonio, Rene Ximenez of San Antonio, Gerard Ximenez of Floresville, David Ximenez and wife Vanessa of Fort Worth, and Joey Ximenez of San Antonio; his 14 grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Frances Perez, Mary Gonzalez and husband Adrian, Nora Mata and husband Raul, and Lupe Rodriguez and husband Alejandro, all of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 3, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, officiated by Father Phil Henning.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Bessie Ximenez Porter, Ruben Ximenez, Mary Ximenez Gonzaba, Imelda Ximenez, Gerard Ximenez, Thelma Ximenez Griffith, David Ximenez, and Joey Ximenez.
