The East Central FFA Poultry Judging team has competed in a variety of contests since January in preparation for the Area contests at Texas A&M University April 14.

The team competed in the Samuel Clemens Invitational, the East Central Invitational, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo contest, the McLennan County Community College Invitational, the Texas State Invitational, and the W.F. Krueger Memorial Contest.

The team of Kyle Brown, Emileigh Geistweidt, Stephanie Geistweidt, Brooke Kosub, Kelsey Mihalski, and

Bethany Mihalec placed second in the Clemens contest. Kyle placed third-high individual, with Stephanie placing fifth-high.

This team placed sixth at the East Central Invitational, with Kyle being recognized as seventh-high.

At the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, the team placed fifth overall. Kyle once again placed individually, this time second, earning a $10,000 scholarship for his efforts.

At the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo contest, the team placed ninth, with Stephanie recognized as the 16th-high individual.

The team continued its winning ways, with a sixth-place overall win at the McLennan County Community College Contest. Kyle and Stephanie earned third and seventh individually, respectively.

At the Texas State contest, the team placed sixth, with Kyle being honored as ninth-high and Emileigh placing 12th.

The team placed eighth overall at the W.F. Krueger Invitational Contest held at Texas A&M University.
