Three Wilson County students are among the 50 students in South Texas to be recognized in the San Antonio Express-News All-City/All-Regional A-Team May 2 in the Pearl Stable in San Antonio. Now in its 20th year, the A-Team celebrates the accomplishments of area students Kyndal Bippert of Floresville, Moises Holguin of Stockdale, and Kayleigh Wauters of Poth. Serving as host for the occasion was Sonny Melendrez, San Antonio’s Goodwill Ambassador.

Kyndal, the daughter of Ryan and Laura Bippert, plans to major in pre-pharmacy at the University of Texas.

Moises, the son of Moises and Elizabeth Holguin, plans to study computer science at the University of Texas.

Kayleigh, the daughter of Randy and Ursula Wauters, plans to attend Texas A&M University to study pre-nursing.

The A-Team is made up of exemplary high school seniors -- 25 from San Antonio and 25 from the surrounding counties -- nominated by their high school counselors and principals based on their leadership, academic achievements, and community involvement. These young people are role models in their schools for their academic excellence and commitment to community service.
