1922-2012

Miguel Gonzales passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, in Uvalde, Texas, at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 13 days. He was born on Sept. 28, 1922, in Floresville, the son of Juan and Paulita Gonzales. He was a resident of Uvalde.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Gloria Gonzales; his brothers, Antonio, Pedro, and Daniel; and his sisters, Josepha, Susie, and Matilda.

Miguel is survived by his wife, Lina Gonzales of Uvalde; his children, Lupe Vasquez, Delma Gonzales and husband Genora, Olga Rangel and husband Fernando, and Argelia Moncada and husband Tito, all of Uvalde, Josie Escamilla and husband Eddie of New Mexico, Miguel Gonzales and wife Paulina of Jourdanton, and Reuben Sendejo and wife Mary of Uvalde; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sunday, May 13, at 3 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at noon in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Reuben Sendejo, Raymond Sendejo, Leeroy Moncada, Justin Rangel, and Joe Michael Mendez.
