ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

1949-2012

Roy M. Ramirez Sr. passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 62 years, 9 months, and 26 days. He was born in Floresville July 12, 1949, the son of Ramiro and Elena Ramirez. He was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

Roy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville and the Knights of Columbus. He married Angelita Murillo July 4, 1970. He retired from Fort Sam Houston Public Works after 38 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ramiro Ramirez; and his brothers, Rene Ramirez and Robert Ramirez.

Roy is survived by his wife, Angelita Ramirez of Floresville; his mother, Elena Ramirez of Floresville; his sons, Roy Ramirez Jr. and wife Sandra of Floresville and Reggie Ramirez and wife Monica of Beaumont; his sister, Rosella Ramirez of Floresville; his brothers, Ramiro “Raymond” Ramirez and wife Adela of Floresville and Richard “Dickey” Ramirez and wife Aurora of Floresville; sisters-in-law Rachel Ramirez and Diana Ramirez, both of Floresville; grandchildren Rosie and Emily Ramirez of Floresville and Jillian Ramirez of Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Friday, May 11, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.
