Paula Serna, a lifelong resident of Poth, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 8 a.m. in the Regency Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 25 days. Paula was born Aug. 13, 1924, in Poth, the daughter of Juan B. and Piedad Reyna Serna.

She was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Poth, and was a farm laborer.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Alfredo Serna, Alberto Serna, and John Serna Jr.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Josephine Trevino and Margaret Ramirez, both of Poth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Wednesday, May 9, at 5 p.m., with a prayer service following at 7 p.m., in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Poth.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church, officiated by Pastor Ramon Martinez.

Interment followed in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were Bryan Serna, Bobby Joe Serna, Adrain Alaniz, Benjamin Serna, Levi Serna Jr., and William Serna.
