Stockdale UIL goes to state

On April 20-21, six Stockdale High School students went to San Marcos and competed at Texas State at the UIL regional meet. As a school, the students earned 99 points. Stockdale will be sending five students to the state competition at the University of Texas at Austin May 21-22.
On April 20, the computer science team, coached by John Martin, placed first and will be advancing to state. The individual result ended in Clayton Lynn receiving third; Joe Bustos, in second; and Moises Holguin placed first.
On April 21, the calculator team, coached by Amy Thiede, also placed first and will be joining the computer science team at state. Clayton Lynn ended up in sixth, John Rogers received fourth, Gerald Gonzalez placed second, and Moises Holguin came in first. Also, Moises placed fifth in mathematics, coached by Kerri Darilek; and Shannon Freasier placed fifth in computer applications, coached by John Martin. Michael Opela placed fourth in prose, coached by Jennifer Martin, and is the alternate for state.

Megan Conaway is a senior at Stockdale High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, FCCLA, FCA, and FFA, and plays volleyball and basketball. She plans to study at Howard College to become an X-ray technician.
