Letter: Don’t let them contaminate our water!
I am writing to inform the public about an urgent threat to our community and our aquifers.
Geomeg Energy has applied for a permit to dump hazardous waste within 150 yards of homes along F.M. 539. They want to inject down into a well that is over 20 years old, radioactive, flammable, and cancer-causing chemicals.
It is not a matter of will it leak. It will leak. It is just a matter of if it will be you, your children, or your grandchildren who will be affected.
This will put 150 more trucks on our roads, and our property values will plummet. What good will this bring Wilson County?
The Railroad Commission hearing is set for Wednesday, May 30. We need to send a loud and clear message that we do not want this future for Wilson County.
Please, if you only stand up for one cause in your entire life, make it the one resource that everything must have to live ... clean water! Once the water is contaminated, there is no going back.
Call 830-947-0245 for more information or visit www.wilsoncountycommunityvaluesassociation.org.
We need your help!
