Tractor pull, cook-off set for June 1-2

FLORESVILLE -- The Wilson County Show Barn will host its fifth annual Tri-County Antique Tractor Pull & IBCA BBQ Cook-off Friday and Saturday, June 1-2.

Activities will include the tractor pulls, barbecue cook-off, and a dance. There also will be a concession stand and various arts and crafts for sale.

Admission to the grounds is $5 per person. The grounds will be open from 5 p.m. until midnight on Friday, and from 9:30 a.m. until midnight on Saturday. There will be a free dance Saturday evening following the tractor pull.

The cook-off is open to all interested in competing in barbecuing brisket, pork ribs, chicken, and beans. There will also be two Friday Night Jackpots for something with bacon, and cobblers made in a Dutch oven. There will also be a kids cook-off Friday night. IBCA rules will be in effect, and all meat will be inspected prior to cooking.

The Wilson County Show Barn is located 1.5 miles east of Floresville on S.H. 97, and all proceeds from this event will benefit the youth of Wilson County.
