Friday, May 18

Compared to last week: Hay prices mostly steady to weak with continued wide price spreads due to pricing the new crop. Recent rains throughout Texas have benefited growth of warm season grasses. Many producers are in the process of cutting and baling. Good outlook on crop for the new season with producers reporting more hay in the first cutting than all of last year’s crop. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.
