ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. The second of a four-part series of Texas AgriLife Extension Service presentations to benefit area landowners will be held Wednesday, May 30, at the Land Heritage Institute located at 1349 Neal Road in San Antonio.

Registration for the Alamo Area Landowner Stewardship program will be from 8:30-9 a.m. with presentations to follow. The program will conclude at 3 p.m.

Program topics will include landowner perspectives and discussion regarding land management, grazing management, brush plant identification and management, grazing behavior, and feral hog management.

Four continuing education units -- two integrated pest management and two general -- will be offered for the program.

Registration is $25 and space is limited to the first 45 respondents. Participants are requested to RSVP to Angel Torres at the AgriLife Extension office for Bexar County on or before Friday, May 25, at 210-467-6575 or matorres@ag.tamu.edu.
