Claire Luensmann, a 2009 graduate of La Vernia High School, graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University on May 11, with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics. During the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences spring awards convocation, Claire received the 2012 Senior Merit Award.

She was a member of the 2009-10 Intercollegiate Wool Judging Team, and also served as an assistant coach for the 2010-11 team. Claire worked as a teaching and research assistant within the Department of Agricultural Economics and was a Texas A&M President’s Endowed Scholar and Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society member. She was also selected as a discussant for the Dallas Federal Reserve Economic Scholars Conference.

Claire is serving as an assistant research analyst at Agrilogics Insurance and Consulting Services this summer, and will pursue a Master of Science degree in agricultural economics at Kansas State University in Manhattan this fall.
