A harvesting rainwater and solar energy workshop will be held Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. until noon in the Cibolo Nature Center, located at 140 City Park Road in Boerne.

John Kight, an engineer and owner of home rainwater-catchment and solar-energy systems, will offer the latest technological information and practical advice for using water- and energy-saving technology.

Participants will hear a presentation in the Cibolo Nature Center library and then carpool to Kight’s home to see his systems in action. Kight’s rainwater-catchment system supplies all the water for his family’s household and landscape needs. His grid-connected solar energy panel is also tied to a battery backup and provides enough electricity for normal demand during fall, winter, and spring.

Fee is $35, $25 for Cibolo Nature Center members, by registering online at Cibolo.org/calendar. Advance registration required.

For more information, call 830-249-4616 or email krystal@cibolo.org.
