In the Know, we would all love to so see Joslin not only fired, but as you say, run out of this town. He has been nothing but bring bad attention to the city. I dont believe we can recall them now as we are within 6 months of the election. We just need to be out there strong on the campaign to ensure that folks like Gomez and Castillo dont get re-elected. The have brought nothing but shame to this town and Im sure thier hands are in the cookie jar with the loss of money this council has seen. Someone knows what is going on with the money. Joslin is too incompetent to understand how to really hide and cove up so if someone were to come in and do the forensic audit, he and the mayor would be screwed. Im not sure who can make this audit happen, but if its the city attorney or district attorney, we can forget it ever happening. They seem to be in with the little d and his minions.

I believe the time has come for a forensic audit to be done. If not requested by this mayor, then the new mayor and the new city council members elected in November. (I still would like to have Gomez and Castillo recalled) The citizens are not happy with the results of the audit but some council members and the mayor are. Go figure! This city is being run by an incompetent city manager who does not deserve to have this job or be paid the salary that he is getting. The only way we will learn the truth of how the money is being handled is by having a forensic audit. And if anyone has mishandled funds they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The city attorney and the county attorney need to get involved soon and I mean very soon. And yes, the mayor did shout, as Mr. Gibbs reported.

Abject. Leadership. Failure. And I'm not talking about the city employees who are about to be thrown under the bus either.

The troubling part is the mingling of funds where street repairs are concerned, and the expenses year to date concerning legal and administrative costs. Adjustments need to be made now in this years budget. Attorneys fees may need to be re negotiated for the City Attorney as well as an examination of all bills and fees paid to date. The foxes are watching the hen houses. Has anyone seen the convention center monthly books yet. Why was the concession sales report not being filed, and when you handle cash it's always dual control,, sloppy poor accounting practices not only indicate incompetence, it also means it's easier to HIDE stuff when you can't find it easily.

The law suits, lawyers and hiring of a PR Group came about because the city REFUSED to admit much less fix the budget.

Then they hired a contract accountant to do Andy's job.

Now, Andy wants to blame - the citizens of Floresville for HIS incompetence - and says this in a public meeting - are you kidding me???

The mayor and his minons (save Mr Guererro and Mr. Morones) - the city manager and the city attorney are the ones responsible for spending the extra tax dollars on lawyers, law suits and PR Groups.

Really bad call on your part Mayor. You put Andy in a position that he could never deliver on. You have put yourself, the counsel and the city attorney all in a very embarrasing, compromising position.

I might add - this was a regular audit.
Not a forensic audit.

Chris you hit the nail on the head. We did not have these kinds of problems when there was an experienced, qualified city manager.

I cant help but feel that if there were "qualified" people working for the city, we wouldnt be in this mess. It seems Joslin and many of the folks over at city hall are in over their heads. They can blame Jim Miller or whoever they want, but the reality is that they dont have either the knowledge, skills, or willingness to do the job right. Whatever the reason, they should be replaced.

I had been checking the City's web site where we were promised that it would be posted at the Special City Council Meeting on 5/31. Just checked. . . it's still not there. I guess they did not want the citizens to see it for themselves!
