Evelyn Stautzenberger, 90, of Nixon, Texas, died Monday, May 28, 2012. She was born on Jan. 23, 1922, in Indianapolis, Ind., and was a member of Faith Temple Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fritz Henry Stautzenberger; two sisters, Marie and Lucille; and a daughter, Mary Evelyn Fahrig.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Fred Henry Stautzenberger and wife Jo Nell of San Antonio, Norman Douglas Stautzenberger of Nixon, Gary Wayne Stautzenberger of Nixon, and Fritz Douglas Stautzenberger and wife Rosie of Nixon; her daughters, Rose Marie Simmons and husband Bobby of San Antonio, Lillian Louise Adcock and husband Tommy of Nixon, and Sharon Ann Clutter and husband Dwight of Nixon; her grandson raised as her son, Cody Jacob Stautzenberger of Nixon; her sister, Mary Moore of New Braunfels; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation was held Wednesday, May 30, from 6-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Faith Temple with the Rev. Michael Cowey officiating.

Interment followed in the Bundick Cemetery near Smiley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
