Strike force targets Eagle Ford traffic

Don't like to be a nit-picker but I think the paper left out the part where Sgt. Christian said the strike force would be working every day or did I just overlook it?

Marcelina, just because they are not out on 181 where everyone can see them does not mean they are not out in the county stopping the trucks. IF you know this county you know there is 123, 537, 539, 536, 97, 87 and other state and farm market roads that these companies are using to get around 181. Sgt. Christian was truthful in his statement they are working everyday. Again just because you do not see it doesn't mean they are not working. The task force cannot be on 181 all the time, especially when the traffic starts diverting to other roads. All locals and DPS are working together to "calm" down the traffic, but it is only going to get worse as the oil starts coming out. 8-10 years is what they are prediciting so be cautious when you drive. We as citizens need to do our part too. If you see a crazy truck driver get a plate number, company name and location and call it in.

Marcelina Muse, just because you do not see locals stopping big trucks on 181 doesn't mean they are not hitting them on the county roads or farm market roads. You can't see those because they are out in the county.

Thanks to all the cops that are keeping our roads safe and saving our lives from these big truckers-not caring. These are the consequences of the so called oil boom.

Counted 4 DPS commercial vehicle units in Floresville Wednesday on my way to SA. Three had eighteen wheelers pulled over. We need not advertise the dates the strike force will be working do you think? I believe most of the truck drivers can read.

A question. Is speeding or enforcement of other traffic violations limited to DPS. Didn't think so. Someone needs to tell the locals. Laws of physics tell me that heavy trucks are much harder to stop than cars or light trucks. Therefore speeding heavy trucks are much more dangerous to citizens. Yet I seldom, if ever, see locals stop heavy trucks. Why is that do you think?
