1929-2012

Eiko Thompson, 83, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012, in her home in Floresville, Texas. Eiko was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Tokyo, Japan, to Keizen Kawamura and Chiyo Fukunaga.

She was married to James Edward Thompson on Jan. 9, 1957, at Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Eiko worked as a display artist for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service while raising her family. Eiko moved to Floresville with her husband and started a small farm. Her passion was fishing, and she spent as much time as she could fishing at the coast. Another passion of hers was watching her granddaughters playing softball. She was always there cheering on her girls.

The family thanks the Connally Memorial Medical Center staff and the Nurses In Touch team for their kind care and support.

She was preceded in death by James, her husband of 51 years, in 2007.

Eiko is survived by her daughters, Linda Brammer and Lillian Koenigstein; her son, James Thompson Jr.; her sons-in-law, Greg Brammer and Daniel Koenigstein; her grandchildren, Rebecca and Madisen Dominguez, and Jessica Thompson; and her new great-grandson, Brayden Leigh Guerrero.

At her request, a private family service will be held at the coast.
