FLORESVILLE -- While many of the area’s kids spent their first week of summer vacation sleeping in or catching up on Xbox and PlayStation time, others spent it outdoors, participating in a sports summer camp.

The Tiger football coaches of Floresville High School hosted a four-day camp June 4-7 for incoming third- through eighth-graders. There was a good turnout, and everyone had a great time.

Participants in the camp learned the fundamentals of defense, offense, and special teams, and spent time challenging one another in various football competitions.

“I was pleased with the turnout and the camp was a success,” said Tiger Assistant Head Coach Jeff Luna.

Luna said he and the coaching staff wanted to thank all of the athletes who participated in the camp this past week.
