The Friends of the Wilson County Public Library will be sponsoring the library’s six-week summer reading program Monday, June 18, through Tuesday, July 31, to be held in the library at 1 Library Lane in Floresville.

Preschoolers are invited to the library every Friday at 10 a.m. to share stories and make a craft, while elementary-age children can attend on Wednesdays at 10 a.m., also in the library. Tweens and teens can come to the library for fun with crafts at 10 a.m., where they can make recycled crafts to redecorate their bedrooms.

•Thursdays -- Growing up Wild with the Texas Parks and Wildlife. Thursdays are also Family Game Night at 6 p.m., including board games and “minute to win it” games to prepare for the last Thursday of the summer reading program for the family “minute to win it” competition.

•Adult readers get to read for a prize this year. For every three books read or listened to, registered participants will earn the chance to enter their name into the adult readers grand prize -- an Amazon Kindle.

•Monday, June 18, Mark Babino, a professional storyteller, kicks off the summer program. Mark’s performance will be at 10 a.m. in the American Legion Hall across the street from the library.

•Thursday, July 12, at 6 p.m., Cody Sanders, a magician and illusionist, will be at the library for a special Family Game Night.

•Monday, July 16, in the American Legion Hall, features Bonzo Crunch the Clown, the ambassador of laughter.

•Tuesday, July 31, as the grand finale to an amazing summer, the TAME Trailblazer, a mobile science and engineering exhibit trailer.
