Found: 2 brindle cows, on Sept. 12, at the end of La Gura Rd. in South Bexar County, located between South Loop 1604 and the San Antonio River, Gillett Rd. on east and Schultz Rd. on the west. Call after 8 p.m., 210-310-9206.
Lost: Men's wallet, Sept. 21 at Wal-Mart fuel center in Floresville, left on side of truck, medical IDs needed. If found call 210-827-9753, no questions asked.

Amber Renee Duelm has received the honor of valedictorian for the La Vernia High School class of 2012 with a grade-point average of 102.161. She is the daughter of Scott and Lisa Duelm.

Throughout high school, Amber has participated in activities both academic and sport-related, and has been challenged by many AP and dual credit courses.

She is a four-year member of the La Vernia volleyball and track programs. She has also been a member of the science UIL team and the Art Club. As part of the Visual Art Scholastic Event competition, Amber was a medalist at the district and state levels.

In addition, her art was sold in the Western Art competition in Austin.

Amber has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years, serving as historian her senior year.

Outside of school, Amber is active in the youth group of the First Baptist Church in La Vernia. She has been part of a local Girl Scout troop throughout high school, as well.

In the fall, she will attend Texas Lutheran University to major in biology as a pre-requisite to entering medical school.
