Help Wanted

Very part-time help needed to feed cats, chickens, and horses, Monday-Friday, 2 times per day, morning after dawn but before 9 a.m. for approx. 30-45 minutes and p.m. before dark (summer about 6-8 p.m., winter 4-5 p.m.) for approx. 60-90 minutes. Suitable for someone who lives near location, which is exactly halfway between New Berlin and La Vernia. No smoking and requires working in all weather conditions. Braden Thomas Lyssy, the son of Floyd and Deanne Lyssy, is the Poth High School class of 2012 salutatorian. He is the grandson of Fabian and Lillian Moy of Falls City and Lorraine Lyssy of Kosciusko and the late Fabian Lyssy.

Throughout all four years of high school, Braden has served as class president and has been a member of the National Beta Club. He has also been a member of the Three Oaks 4-H Club and the Poth FFA chapter, where he competed in livestock shows and judging/leadership competitions.

Braden has been successful in various UIL academic and athletic events. He was a member of the UIL mathematics team and the Pirate football and baseball teams. Throughout his varsity years, Braden has earned numerous honors and awards, including District MVP in both football and baseball his senior year. He also was awarded the National Scholar/Athlete Award and named on the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Academic All-State team.

An active member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, Braden is a current member of the Teen ACTS team of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

In the fall, Braden will attend the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, where he plans to pursue a degree in accounting.
