Kayleigh Wauters, valedictorian
Kayleigh Alayne Wauters, the daughter of Randy and Ursula Wauters, is the Poth High School class of 2012 valedictorian. She has two siblings, Ethan and Lexi. Kayleigh is the granddaughter of Charles and Elaine Warnken of Pleasanton and Fred and Hilda Wauters of Poth.
Kayleigh has received the Presidential Award for three consecutive years and Outstanding Student awards for the following: communication applications, World History, geometry, Algebra II, calculus, English III, and physics.
A member of the UIL Debate Team, Kayleigh was a regional qualifier in calculator applications and accounting.
A class officer for four years, Kayleigh served as vice president of the senior class. She also served as the Student Council vice president. A member of the Beta Club for four years, Kayleigh served as president of the club her senior year, and is also a member of the Science Club.
Kayleigh was a member of the Poth Pirate Band her freshman and sophomore years, and served as a cheerleader for three years, beginning as a sophomore.
She is an active member of the ACTS church group.
Upon graduation, Kayleigh plans to attend Texas A&M University to major in biomedical science to pursue a career in nursing.
