Courtney Rene Trout, the 18-year-old daughter of Jeff and Rhonda Trout, is the salutatorian of the Stockdale class of 2012. She is the older sister of Carley Trout of Stockdale and is a member of the Union Valley Baptist Church.

Courtney has gone to Stockdale schools since kindergarten and plans to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio with a major in biochemistry.

She has been involved with the Stockdale 4-H Club for 10 years, fulfilling many officer positions.

Courtney was on the high school journalism staff for two years. She has been a cheerleader in Stockdale since the seventh grade and was a co-captain this year.

She enjoys playing golf and was on the varsity golf team for the past four years, advancing to regional competition three out of four years. A member of the junior varsity volleyball team for three years, Courtney played the libero position.

Courtney was a member of the National Honor Society for three years and the GT program for five. She was on the UIL headline writing team and advanced to regionals. Courtney has held several class officer positions and was the Homecoming Queen this year. She has written poems that she submitted to the Celebration of Poets contest that were published two years in a row.

Courtney has been involved in many community-service projects and takes pride in helping out those around her. She looks forward to her future of assisting others toward a more healthy lifestyle! She would like to wish the class of 2012 nothing but happiness and success in their future.
