Tyler Wiatrek is the valedictorian of the Falls City graduating class of 2012. He participated in a number of sports activities, including football, basketball, baseball, and track and field.

Tyler received many academic and athletic awards in high school. The football awards include the Built Ford Tough 1A Texas Football Player of the Week, Player of the Week, All-District MVP, All-State Second Team running back, and All-State Honorable Mention linebacker his senior year. Tyler’s junior year, he received first team All-District tight end and first team All-District outside linebacker; the Falls City team won the 2010 1A Division II State Football Championship.

Tyler’s basketball awards include All-District Offensive Player of the Year his senior year, All-District Co-MVP his junior year, and All-District second team his sophomore and freshman years.

In baseball, Tyler’s awards include All-District second team in his junior and sophomore years.

Tyler has been to state marching contest three times since he has been in band. He was a member of the National Honor Society, band, FFA, the Spanish Club, the Drama Club, and the UIL literary team.

Some of his academic awards include being named to the All-Academic team for football, basketball, and baseball for several years, and being named the valedictorian.

Tyler said he has worked hard in accomplishing these awards, and would advise all the students in high school to work hard at their goals and to never give up.

“I will treasure every moment of high school for the rest of my life,” Tyler said.

Tyler would like to thank everyone that helped him through high school, whether it was a parent, student, or teacher. His experience at Falls City High School was memorable, and he plans to do great things beyond it.
