Matthew Roe, 18, is the son of John and Nicole Roe and the grandson of Ron Thuney of Floresville. Matthew is the valedictorian of the Floresville High School graduating class of 2012. He will graduate with honors as a distinguished student.

He has been involved in many activities including theatre, baseball, the Link Crew, and the National Honor Society. As a student, Matthew has been awarded PAP Geometry, PAP Algebra II, PAP Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus Outstanding Student of the Year awards, and perfect attendance and All A honor roll for four years. Matthew has also served as president for the National Honor Society and a captain on the varsity baseball team.

Athletically, Matthew has received the honor of first team All-District outfield 2012 and honorable mention pitcher 2011.

After high school, Matthew plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, majoring in computer and electrical engineering.
