If you have a First Communion gown, bridesmaid dress, or other formal gown that you no longer have a use for, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital in downtown San Antonio encourages donating it to a good cause to give it new life.

The hospital’s Spiritual Care department collects wedding and other formal gowns to recycle for a special purpose, making burial gowns for babies who pass away. The gowns collected are sent to the Mary Madeline Project in Omaha, Neb., which makes burial gowns from donated gowns and sends them back to San Antonio.

The donated gowns help many families of babies who pass away.

To donate gowns, take them to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, soon to become the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, attaching a note stating: “Attention: Chaplain Peggy, NICU.”

For more information, contact the Spiritual Care department at the hospital, 210-704-2181.
