The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo awarded 70 Texas 4-H members with four-year, $16,000 college scholarships totaling $1,120,000 during the June 11 Texas 4-H Roundup in Lubbock.

Among the recipients are Claire Raabe of Poth, Jalynn Muenich of Seguin, and Kimberly Rennspies of Marion.

In 2012, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has dedicated $18.8 million to scholarships, research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art participants, and other educational programs.

The 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will run Feb. 25 through March 17. For more information, visit
